Australia was powered by an inspired 19 point performance from Cayla George, and the Opals managed an 86-69 win against a talented Belgium side.
George also managed nine rebounds and chipped in defensively with a steal and a block to put in her best performance of the tournament so far.
Mariana Tolo was productive offensively as usual, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds but the notable performance of the first half was by Sara Blicavs.
Blicavs scored 12 points and got two steals in an energetic performance. Blicavs attacked the basket aggressively and showed impressive technique when finishing in close. Blicavs has continued to start in place of Bec Allen and has started settling into the role very well.
The final notable performance came from a fan favourite for Australia, Lauren Jackson. The 41 year-old 'GOAT' as she's affectionately referred to as played 14 minutes and scored a tournament high 12 points. Every time Jackson touched the ball, she looked dangerous and produced some great offensive energy off the bench.
Australia will be playing China in the semi-finals and are guaranteed to be competing for a medal this tournament. The Opals will be hoping that medal is gold as they take on a talented Chinese side.
