This holiday season the Spotlight Series is hoping to bring some much-needed relief to struggling families throughout the Christmas period via a series of performances.
Music legend Mahalia Barnes has curated this series in the hope that even though Australians have had a difficult few years through bushfires, floods, COVID and now a growing recession. However, the joy of music during the holidays will hopefully alleviate some of that pain, albeit temporarily.
“Aussies have had a difficult few years so, together with Vicinity Centres, we’re bringing joy to this festive season through an incredible lineup of local acts from across the country,” said Barnes.
Those local acts have been curated by Barnes herself and feature amazing artists such as former The Voice Australia winner Karise Eden and former X-Factor Australia winner Reece Mastin.
With gigs across five different Australian cities, there is the opportunity for almost every family in Australia to hear something that will brighten their day. And most importantly, it will be raising funds for the Red Cross which do so much good work across the Christmas season.
“We’re proud to bring back the Spotlight Series after a successful launch last year. Through the series, we continue our support of local communities across Australia and the Australian Red Cross, giving back to those who need it most,” said David Henderson, Marketing Director of Vicinity Centres.
Last financial year the Vicinity Centres raised more than $2.9m in donations for local communities and families. And through a mix of monetary donations and in-kind contributions, they are hoping to go even further this time around.
The following are the dates and times for each of the performances:
The Myer Centre Brisbane, QLD
The Glen, VIC
Mandurah Forum, WA
Elizabeth City Centre, SA
