Excitement is building in the lead-up to the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2021, which will be broadcast this Saturday, January 22.
For those who don’t know, the Hottest 100 is a publicly-voted countdown hosted by Australia’s national youth broadcaster in January every year.
This year, it will be heard on radio waves on Saturday, January 22 from 12 pm AEDT.
Things are looking a little different this year compared to previous years, as Triple J is playing the songs voted 200 to 101 from 10am local time the day before the Hottest 100.
To round out the weekend, Triple J will broadcast the Hottest 100 of 2001 on Sunday, January 23.
In the voting process, the public selected up to 10 songs released between December 1, 2020, and November 30, 2021, either by browsing the song list on the Hottest 100 website or inputting songs manually.
