Jakara Anthony's first competition of the final weekend of the 2021-22 World Cup season ended with sizzle taking out silver in the moguls singles competition, second only to 2018 Olympic Gold Medallist Perrine Laffont.
Anthony now sits alone on top of Australian winter sports athletes earning her 11th podium of the season passing Alisa Camplin and Britt Cox who both earned 10 podiums in a single season previously.
Ranked third in the world heading into the event, Anthony got to skip the qualification round alongside Laffont, Kawamura Anri and Olivia Giacco, but Anthony didn't need a warm-up run to get going.
The 23-year-old Australian blitzed the field in the first run of qualifying, receiving full marks for time, getting down the hill in 25.61, and the best score for air with a 18.26 with the judges giving her no lower than an 8.5 in her top air.
Only in the turns was she pipped, with Laffont edging out Anthony's 49.9 by 0.4 points, for a total score of 88.16, 1.67 points ahead of Laffont in the first round of the final.
However, as has been the story this season the Frenchwoman lifted in the second final beating Anthony in turns, with both receiving full marks for time, while the air score was closer than Anthony needed it to be.
It wasn't due to any major errors from the Australian, just a matter of less precise, receiving a 17.03 for her air score, while Laffont scored 16.66, the section she's been the most dominant in especially with the 720 mute grab on the top air that has become her trademark this year.
Anthony scored an 86.43 in the second round of the final while Laffont scored an 86.86, earning the Frenchwoman the gold medal in Megeve as well as the moguls singles Crystal Globe for the 2021-2022 season with 610 points.

The Australian finished third in the World Cup with 585 points, meanwhile, Japan's Kawamura Anri finished the season second in the world after finishing in third in Megeve with a score of 82.54.
In the men's competition, Canada's Mikael Kingsbury took out gold and his 10th Crystal Globe, beating Japan's Ikuma Horishima by 0.04 points and 1.14 points ahead of bronze medallist Walter Wallberg of Sweden.
The moguls action continues overnight at 1:40 am with the dual moguls, where Anthony will attempt to lock in two Crystal Globe trophies.
